RobotChallenge is Europe's largest competition for autonomous robots. I was amazed to meet and exchange with teams from so many foreign countries. Since 2004 teams from 56 countries with more than 2,000 robots have competed in 15 different disciplines.

With the Pololu magnetic encoders I am going to measure motor rounds per interval and from this I am going to derive the robot's velocity and position. I am going to feed the additional information into the robot algorithms and I expect significant improvements in steering accuracy and velocity control.

One of the revelations I had at the robotchallenge 2014 in March was that in order to improve the performance of our line follower robot we would need more data (you can not improve what you can not measure!). I immediately started working on a laptimer (something I already had on my todo list).

End of March 2014, team epic participated at the RobotChallenge 2014 in Vienna.

RobotChallenge is Europe's largest competition for autonomous robots. We where amazed to meet and exchange with teams from 46 participating countries. We where particularly impressed by the teams of Taiwan and Mexico. 574 robots engaged in 15 different disciplines. Over breathtaking two days we watched as many exiting qualifications and final competitions as we could.
